Discount Search Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Discount Search ("we", "us") handles information when you use the Discount Search iOS app.

Information We Collect

  • Account data: email address, password (stored securely as a hash on our servers), display name.
  • Profile data: optional profile photo URL and language preference.
  • User content: posts, post images, comments, likes, and favorites.
  • Optional location data you provide when creating posts (address/coordinates).
  • Notification data: device push token and notification preferences.
  • Technical data: basic server request metadata required for security and operations.

How We Use Information

  • To provide account login, authentication, and account recovery.
  • To show community content (deals, catalogs, comments, favorites, and profile information).
  • To deliver optional push notifications for new posts/catalogs based on your settings.
  • To keep the app secure and prevent abuse.

How We Share Information

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We may use infrastructure providers strictly to operate the app (for example API hosting and image storage).

Data Retention

We keep account and app data as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce policies.

If you delete your account from the app settings, we pseudonymize your account information (for example email, name, profile photo reference, device token, and authentication identifiers) so it is no longer tied to your identity. Community content you created (such as comments or posts) may remain visible in the app but is attributed to a deleted account.

Your Choices

  • You can update profile details and notification settings in the app.
  • You can delete your account in the iOS app via Settings.
  • You can log out at any time.

Discount Search is not directed to children under 13.
